Born and raised in Las Vegas, I moved to Seattle shortly after turning 21 (and realizing the fleeting novelty of the Sin City). During high school, as an alternative to yet another art class that would once again teach me the basics of perspective, I took a commercial art class. There I was given an introduction to graphic design and assigned very fun projects like designing packages for fireworks, storyboarding commercials, and custom lettering. I immediately realized that all the time I spent in other classes drawing, doodling and making origami could be put to good use. I realized I didn't have to be a starving artist to be creative for a living. Since then, I've always known that this is what I want to do, what I am destined for. I love my job.
